2nd May 2011 - If you are on one of the progression servers remember the best way to hunt alone after level 16 is to use your panic animal spell and fearkite. My fearkiting guide shows you how to do this effectively, along with an animal and zone list, however remember that at the moment only the original zones are available. Even if you are on one of the usual servers and under level 60 or so, why not check it out? Mercenaries are great for levelling but if you want to use your own skills out there, fearkiting is
the way to go.

November 2011 - Well I haven't bought the new expansion, Veil of Alaris. I wanted to like it. Indeed I did like a few of the improvements relating to housing and sending items in game. However, it all boils down to the same thing in the last few expansions. You must progress! and if you don't progress to a specific schedule there really is nowhere for you to go. Having a couple of mini rangers now in my life, I cannot commit to the amount of work needed to get to the next tier and to not feel so under pressure to be able to go afk because of family needs. Really, it is such a shame that there is no longer a need to go to those long lost zones and expansions, to get a certain item for tradeskilling, or where you might meet a new friend or find an exquisite item that you always longed for. There are no longer any players out there unless you are in the latest or last expansion. So I'm going back to the progression servers who I hear may be opening Luclin soon. I'm going to level up a character to play in the good old days again as they have made the current EQ too rigid and hardcore. I will be referring to my old guides and levelling up a new ranger soon.
